Elia H. Charles, LICSW, LCSW, BCD, is a seasoned EMDR psychotherapist and EMDRIA-approved consultant with over 17 years of experience treating complex trauma, grief, combat trauma, sexual assault, addiction, and interpersonal violence. A Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) through IITAP, she earned her BS in Psychology and MSW from Howard University. Elia began her career at DC Child and Family Services, then served wounded and ill service members as an Army civilian and now supervises Army clinical social workers. Trained in EMDR by the U.S. Military and certified under Deany Laliotis, she offers EMDR therapy and consultation. Recently, Elia has expanded her practice by integrating ketamine-assisted psychotherapy as a cutting-edge, evidence-informed intervention to support clients in healing deep-rooted trauma and achieving transformative growth when traditional approaches have not fully sufficed.
