Where compassion, courage, humor, and KAP meet to help clients reclaim agency and empowerment in their lives
My roots in therapy comes from lessons learned during many years in the Army: life isn’t fair, but with integrity, courage, and practice you can build a life that is worth living. For me, therapy presents the idea that you don’t have to remain feeling stuck in patterns of passivity or helplessness. I strive to help clients connect with their own empowerment and autonomy, and to develop fluency in a new language; a new way of seeing themselves as an agent of change in their lives. In Ketamine assisted therapy (KAP), this process is enhanced by increasing neuroplasticity—acting like a fabric softener for the soul that loosens rigid, learned scripts so they can be rewritten with greater clarity, compassion, and choice. My introduction to KAP came in my own therapy. I found the experience to be such a game changer that I was inspired to learn how to lead KAP sessions and inspire my clients to continue their forward movement through their own stories.
