I am a Massachusetts native with a varied work background before entering the therapy field in my early 30s. I spent my 20s working a myriad of jobs, including a 5-year period as a pastry chef in a Boston-area bakery. I share this background information because I am a very firm believer that, 1.) a therapist should never be a completely blank slate, which you know nothing about, and 2.) because life comes with many twists and turns. I like to incorporate my own experience of an unconventional background to better help my clients. Over the years in my training and clinical practice, I have learned and incorporated several modalities of therapy. I primarily utilize internal family systems (IFSI Level 1 Trained), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), as well as eastern philosophical discourse in my work. I have found that combining these modalities with a holistic view of one's life is the key to greater success.
