About Montana

I am primarily a psychoanalytic therapist meaning that I take seriously the concept of an unconscious, that we all have one, and that we have deeply ingrained patterns of relating to ourselves and others that we develop in childhood and are often unaware of. KAP feels like a invaluable tool and complement to psychoanalytic work. I have been a therapist since 2010 when I graduated with a Master's degree in mental health counseling. I worked for 2 years at an outpatient substance abuse clinic and then decided to pursue a doctoral degree in clinical psychology. In that time I trained in multiple settings including hospitals, community clinics, and in college counseling. I completed my PhD in 2017 and have been in private practice since then. I started my practice in person in NYC and then relocated to Tampa, FL during the pandemic, transitioning my practice to completely virtual. However, I recently started back in the office part-time - my office location is in South Tampa.
